China sets " Cultural Heritage Day "

 

Dear Qin Friends,

According to Xinhua News Agency,  BEIJING , February 9,  The State Council ( China 's Cabinet), has designated the second Saturday of June as Cultural Heritage Day to boost public awareness of heritage protection in China .

This is great news for guqin music, because the guqin is under the intangible heritage category that needs to be protected.

This coming Sunday, February 12th, the China National Museum in Beijing will hold an intangible heritage exhibition that includes several Tang and Song Dynasty guqins. In addition, three intangible heritage concerts will be held in Beijing from Feb 12th to Feb 14th. NAGA consultant professor Li Xiangting will represent the guqin by playing a Tang Dynasty qin. Other performances will include Kunqu, Mukamu and etc.
